Body Armor

Several kinds of personal body armor are available given the mission for FMI personnel. Most common is the fujita Mark V adaptable combat armor.Consisting of individual lightweight tritanium plates placed inside the regular issue combat fatigues. The fujita armor is the first best line of defense for the active combat FMI.

Tactical Assault Vest: Used for boarding/anti-boarding action as well as short duration combat or exploration missions, the Tactical Assault Vest is a versatile and light piece of apparel designed to carry mission specific equipment, power cells as well as food and water supply to last up to 72 hours of operational duty.

Helmet: The helmet is an open faced design taken from the German army of the mid-20th century. It is shaped as such that it curves over the back of the neck to protect the spine from shrapnel thrown by explosions. Padding inside the helmet ensures maximum comfort for the wearer.

Eye-HUD: A piece of equipment that combines the combadge and the tricorder, the Eye-HUD features a crystalline-like display that is positioned in front of either the left or right eye giving the wearer tactical information. It also features a micro-phone and earpiece allowing communication to fellow away-team members and their parent ship.

Stealth System: To a raw recruit hearing these words for the first time they would assume some type of personal cloak. However the truth could not be further; it is in fact a life-signs scrambler. Completely masking the origin of the wearer's life-sign it allows them to blend into areas of biological abundance such as jungles or cities. However when used on an uninhabited planet or derelict ship it can, and often will, draw attention. The exact opposite of the intended effect.

Modular Exploration Backpack (MEB): When Starfleet Officers find themselves spending time on the surface of a planet for more than a day or so they tend to bring the MEB. Capable of carrying 250 pounds it allows them to bring tents, communications equipment, medical supplies and other needed equipment allowing them to extend their stay without constant resupply.
