A long-time legal campaigner in the name of various Civil Rights, Whitak is somewhat notorious as vicious in fighting for a cause she believes in. As a writer, however, she tends to present arguments calmly and methodically, whittling away at a disbeliever's defences with all the professionalism of a lawyer.
