History

Before the Borg war, Risa was the "pleasure planet" of the Federation. The entire planet was sustained in a temperate and comfortable tropical environment through massive weather control systems. In its natural state, Risa is a tropical jungle with an almost endless rainy season.

It was a common destination for shore leave within Starfleet and a popular vacation spot for Federation citizens. The beautiful beaches and pleasant climate coupled with the accommodating Risian population made it a near paradise.

Not much information is available about Risa during the Borg war, but it was assimilated with little resistance due to the deployments of the Federation fleet. After that, all information was lost.

The independent vessel SS Starlight visited the Risian system in 2405 and found... nothing. There was literally no indication that the planet Risa, the star, or any of the other 6 planets in the system were ever there. To this day, it is a complete mystery what happened to the system and planets.
