Danube
How come we don't have Danube's any more? I get that the Hurons are supposed to replace them and they're not produced any more, but we don't have old models kicking about the place? They're not even that old at 30yrs. We still have Sydneys in service - these things stated life before 2300! We still have the type-8's which are as old as, if not older than the Danubes, so why has the runabout been singled out? - Chris 10:40, 29 March 2006 (EST)
- I honestly don't know, I like the Danube Class myself and plan to have them aboard the Ronny when we leave sol, so I think they should be listed here still.

- Here, here! Considering that the modern US Navy uses aircraft that were bulit in the 1960's and 70's, and the Air Force is looking to extend the life of it's B-52 fleet (built mostly in the 1950's and 60s) well in to the 21st century, into it seems perfectly plausible that with advances in materials and construction technology Danube-class ships could have a shelf-life measured in centuries as far as having a flight worthy space frame is concerned. Some of its computer hardware may be a bit out of date, but it's not like Starfleet can be real picky on that count right now. Ross Taben 15:51, 29 March 2006 (EST)
That was a mistake there should still but lots and lots of danubes left! Oooop! RadmCash 16:54, 29 March 2006 (EST)
Whilst we're here, what's the right way to pronounce it? I've always said dah-noob-ee, but is it dah-noob? - Chris 10:50, 30 March 2006 (EST)
- Neither. It's pronounced the same way the river is (dan'yOOb). Ross Taben 11:44, 30 March 2006 (EST)
