I think from memory alone that these became some kind of holy grail to tech heads, during the war we lost the ability to create them so what we had made became more precious than air.
It wouldn't surprise me if there are a few generators hidden away around the Federation that could be used if absolutely necessary, but no FE ship would have them installed as standard and most CO's wouldn't even know of their existance anymore, they would be considered something like a myth.

Possibly, but its Star Trek Canon, and people are going to keep mentioning it. Deleting it on some personal crusade won't help matters much ;)

Just like it mentions further up, no FE ship has these. If you really want some installed you'll need to make a bloody good case to the Quad in order to get them granted.
