The USS da Gama is the newest starship to be commissioned by Starfleet. It is an Explorer-class starship, registry number NCC-99774, and was originally under the command of Commodore Zindar Rouavi. Following the vessel's commissioning it was sent on a shakedown cruise to Vulcan just hours before Federation President Edward Jellico declared war on the Vulcans.
