Lieutenant Commander Data was an android of the Soong-type. Arguably the most advanced of any android ever created. The first and only to ever enter Starfleet. Data was created sometime during the 2330s on the planet Omicron Theta by Doctor Noonian Soong and his wife. Data was killed in 2379, after sacrificing his own life for the crew of the Starship Enterprise 1701-E.
