The USS Nautilus is a salvaged and refit Galaxy class stardrive section. No new Saucer section will be built for the refurbished Nautilus. Admiral Chadwick is due to Transfer his Flag to the Nautilus in March of 2410. A tactically superior vessel without the bulky Saucer section attached Nautilus will be a singularly unique Vessel in the Fleet when launched. One of only Three Galaxy class left in existence and most unique the remaining Stardrive section only model. As such crew amenities will be limited as will crew capacity.A suit of bunk only staterooms is being added in place of several old science and engineering labs to increase Nautilus' maximum capacity.

After being recovered in 2409 Starfleet corps of engineers recommended a smaller Saucer section be constructed for the ship some 70% smaller than a regular Galaxy saucer section in response to wanting to press the Nautilus back into service. Admiral Chadwick vetoed the recommendation in favor of removing much of the ships remaining science capacity and replacing it with bunk and rack type sleeping quarters.

No stateroom will be provided for the Admiral aboard. Instead the small readyroom off the battle bridge will be modified into sleeping quarters for the Admiral. The Nautilus will not carry a Fleet Captain as most Flag vessels of the Admirality do. Instead the ship will be under the direct day to day command of the Admiral.
