The second Ark Royal Class vessel scheduled for construction by Starfleet, its hull was laid down at the same time as USS Ark Royal's and then put in to storage. Shortly before the launch of USS Ark Royal the second hull was pulled out of storage and work began in earnest on getting the ship in to space.
It is estimated that it will be late 2410 before Invincible is ready for launch. It was determined that the Invincible would be renamed USS Ark Royal late in its construction and then the vessel was rushed into service before completed.
