San Francisco shipyards

Once the premier shipyard in the Federation; at one point, SFS were responsible for turning out the first prototype for every new starship class in Starfleet. Following the construction of Utopia Planitia shipyards however, SFS lost its advanced development role and is now generally used for refits and repairs. The yards are currently overseen by a conglomerate of private corporations as well as Government and Fleet officials.
