Cardassia Prime

The formal name of the Cardassian homeworld -- a world other than the third, fourth or fifth planet of the system -- although natives often informally drop the "Prime." Its capital city is awash with giant and continuous state-controlled messages extolling self-sacrifice, order, and subservience to the government -- with a characteristic emphasis on the family and children. The central prison is located there.
