Amy Sharpe is the Deputy Director of Starfleet Special Investigations. A former engineer who worked within Starfleet Intelligence during the Borg War, hers was a surprising assignment to the Security Division by Director Logan Callahan upon the declaration of peace in 2399. Nevertheless, she has proven herself since the conflict to be an excellent administrator, supervising and organising many of SSI's most successful field operations. Critics of SSI who look deeper than just Director Callahan himself have often pinpointed Sharpe as being a source of many of the organisation's more flagrant abuses of civil liberties in the post-War Federation.

Her blonde hair shows no signs yet of greying, suggesting artificial intervention, though this is likely to off-set the rather disconcerting affect given by the bright blue optical implants she wears in her eyes since a shuttle accident over twenty years ago that left her blinded.
