As far as the medical tools thing and the shimmer function, would not an EHM simply be able to use holographic diagnostic tools so as to not have to worry about showing up elsewhere without it's medkit? If working from a proper model file, the ship should be able to recreate just about anything tool wise along with the EMH for it's use. Just thoughts. - Slagar 06:55, 7 August 2008 (UTC)

You know, I did consider that. I also considered the fact that they've even given Neelix a holographic lung. Holographic technology as made for certain episodes have a level of power that gets a bit ridiculous, but since the Doctor is seen using real tools, I decided that there is a technical limitation in using a non-real scanning device and things like that, so I'd say that holographic stuff doesn't work. Also, when you come to hyposprays, and the fact that the *entire* ship isn't decked out with holo-emitters... you give someone a treatment, and as soon as they return to their quarters, it disappears, and they die or something.
