A modest-sized prey animal on the Rish homeworld. Noted for its individual timidity, fleet-footed running and viciousness when encountered as a member of a large pack.
The Rish phrase "In for one k'sept, in for the pack" can be considered roughly equivalent to the old English "In for a penny, in for a pound."
