The USS Aquarius is a Charleston Class Cruiser. The Aquarius is currently under command of long service Commanding Officer, Captain John Vass.

The original USS Aquarius, Kelvin Class, serviced Star Fleet from 2372 in many roles including as an Admirals Flagship until 2382 when it met it's end in tragic circumstances.

Following the destruction of the original Aquarius, a Charleston Class keel was laid at Avalon Fleet Yards. Completed and cleared for active duty some two years later, 2384, the ship was placed under command of then, Commander, John Vass whom would continue command for many years rising to the rank of Captain. The design of the Charleston allowed it to fill many roles however predominantly fulfilled missions of a scientific endeavor.
The USS Aquarius was one of the ships present at the Battle of Sol, it was lost, presumed destroyed in The Field with only a small number of the crew escaping. Amongst those lost were Executive Officer Lieutenant Commander Justine Riley and Captain Vass' wife and Son. The ship would be later found a drift near the edge of The Field, toed to the Fleet Yards and undergo extensive repair and refit to return to active service in 2410.
