Betazed is a class M planet, located near the Kalandra sector. It is home to the Betazoid race.
Status in 2405
Betazed itself wasn't damaged or invaded by the Borg. Slowly the task force assigned to Betazed assisted the people in improving their defensives. Betazed was already protected by numerous orbital and land defense systems since the end of the Dominion war as Starfleet had improved on the antiquated systems not wanting to see another invasion of the planet again.Betazed has turned somewhat xenophobic in recent years.Not allowing anyone to even approach the planet for fear of causing a massive refugee stampede.The issue of natural resources and betazed's policy on settlement has been raised in recent years and the federation government might be seen as allowing this and keeping the planet as a cache of space and natural resources
Empok Nor
More recently, in 2403, with the help of the USS Excalibur and her quantum slipstream drive as well as a small fleet of Starfleet tug vessels Starfleet has been able to tow the spacestation Empok Nor into orbit of Betazed. The station acted as one of the major repair, refill and restock stations in Starfleet's core territory yet still outside of the Sol System.It's current status is as the headquarters for the Betazed system blockade coalition.
