Personality

Eric Harrington prides himself on being unpeturbed by most things. When he was a younger man, he was able to keep a level head and get six of his friends back to their camp safely after their guide had fallen and become unconcious. This attitude has helped him become a much better leader than one might expect from him, though his attitude and focus on the Corps has kept him from developing a normal social life.

Mother: Dr. Sarah Harrington (MD), Starfleet Medical - Mars Annex Father: Dr. Michael Harrington (PhD), Utopia Planitia Fleet Yards Sister: Lieutenant Honor Harrington, Security/Tactical Officer, USS Alaska

Brief History

Eric Harrington's parents, one a doctor and one a warp physicist, were somewhat surprised when Eric expressed a desire to join the Corps as an enlisted Marine, instead of attending Starfleet Academy. His sister, who had her heart set on going through Starfleet's Command course and eventually becoming a starship captain, oddly, wasn't, and understood his thinking - it wasn't that her brother didn't want to be a leader, but he felt that he had to know what the job entailed before leading others in the job itself. Harrington's mother was supportive, but his father felt that Eric was selling himself short, and when the family moved to Mars while Eric was in Basic Combat Training, Eric's relationship with his father was cool at best.

His attitude of taking life as it came stood him in good stead while dealing with the drill instructors, and after training, Eric found himself aboard the Ambassador-class Ark Royal.
