Evan Calynx is a 40 years old man who has the reflexes of a youthful man. He has spent most of his life hiding in and out of holes in the worlds. He was an intrusion expert and tended to keep behind lines and help place attacks. Evan began to think something was seriously wrong when he contacted Starfleet 5 years after the war started and he couldn't really get a response. Evan had seen a lot of crazy things in his life and when he got back into the civilized world he realized his whole world was shattered. Evan is a very large man for a Trill and his hair is long as he tries to hide part of his heritage.

Personality – Evan is a man who has little fear and will go to his extremes to protect what he believes is the core of starfleet. While he does believe in the Prime Directive he no longer always follows the letter of the law. There are times when he realizes that expedience over any of his morals if necessary. Evan has a love of ancient books and has kept a number of books specifically from his own people. The symbiot is a 680 year old being with immense curiousity and who dislikes all the mental tasks and loves to be out doing something. While Evan respects his superiors in command he knows that some are too idealistic in face of what they have went through.

Appearance

Evan is a tall man of about 6'2" he has hair that has grayed giving him the salt and pepper look. He is not particularly muscle bound but does have a pretty good physique. His eyes are hazel and they seem to be so intense and carry a lot of emotional baggage. Evan has some facial scarring along his right cheek. On his left cheek he has a tattoo of flaming fist. Evan's hair is long and the spots are lightening a bit with age that go down his body. Evan is missing the pink finger on his left hand. His face has wrinkles at the corners of his eyes and he doesn't look to be a very attractive man.

Background

Evan has long been in Starfleet however he didn't do things always in the prescribed action. He was an idealist believing in everything that Starfleet was. That tended to make him a person that Starfleet seems to trust in. During most of his career he was sent to barbaric worlds where he would attempt to fit in. Evan had fought in most major wars for the last 25 years. In the Borg War, Evan was an insurgent flying all over the galaxy collecting data that would help Starfleet from another defeat by the Borg. Evan was a strong man who tended to be friends with many races and cultures and as the Calynx symbiot had once been friends with many of the race they accepted Evan with little fuss. Evan is a solid fighter and will fight both hand to hand with. Evan was close to Shane McColm for many years when Shane went rogue Evan managed to avoid going with Shane though he secretly longed for the life of the rogue pirate searching for vengeance for the death of his wife and child. Shane was now a hunted man with the cruiser ship he had stolen. With his long time friend off and going for revenge and Evan seriously contemplating retirement from Starfleet he got dragged back in to help with some of the clean up work and helping to get Sol back into the game. Evan still feels his friendship but knows Shane doesn't have any of the same emotions and if Evan got in the way he would die at Shane's hands. He has tried to get some resources together but wasn't able to persuade many of his old friends wrongdoing and no one was crazy enough to try and bring Shane back into the fold.

As Evan aged so did his desire to travel the stars and to have more fun again. When a chance came for him to return to the stars instead of hiding on Earth and trying to input any data he could on the movements of Shane McColm. Evan was trained a long time ago by Shane and knows very well how powerful he can be when he wants to be. Evan has studied some of the ancient languages and knows Portuguese and Klingon and Trill as well as English.

Evan lost his wife in a borg assault and is still recovering from the loss of his wife of 10 years. Evan has since found a kind of peace that will help him to release the eagerness to charge into dangerous situations.
