Formerly known as the 4th Fleet the SRI as it became known was originally tasked with re-exploring the sectors around Sol in 2400. The Original Task Force consisted of 4 ships, USS Enterprise-F, USS Vendetta, USS Defiant-B and USS Yorktown-F, at the time this was all Starfleet felt it could spare from the Earth Defence Force.
