Baikonur Cosmodrome

A Federation shipyard located in Eastern Europe on Earth, largely responsible for the output of smaller craft such as the Oberth class during the mid to late 24th century. The Cosmodrome no longer exists as a contruction facility.

Earth Station McKinley

This was a facility close to Earth's orbit, capable of housing and refitting vessels as large as the Galaxy-class in 2364.

Marin County Starfleet Yards

The facility in orbit of Marin County on Earth was responsible for the construction of designs such as the Olympic-class in the mid-24th century. It was destroyed during the Borg War.

Oakland Shipyards

The Oakland Shipyards are a grouping of Starfleet controlled spaceframes located in a geosyncronous orbit with their namesake city, originally charged with refitting existing Fleet frames with upgrades and experimental technology, as opposed to the Utopia Planitia yards which primarily dealt with the mass production of proven spaceframe designs. In 2382, the disappointing Norway-class needed to be substancially upgraded and Oakland was chosen as the base for this redevelopment. In the same year, the first of the upgraded Intrepid-class vessels, the USS Earhart was launched from the yards. In 2393, the yards were responsible for refitting the USS Nova into what would become the base design for all new Nova vessels comissioned.

By 2396 however, the yards had lost their role as a solely experimental complex and were charged with the construction of standard designs, such as that of the USS Galaxy-C, with many experimental designs (including the Excalibur and Venture Star projects) being developed exclusively at Utopia Planitia.

San Francisco Shipyards

Also known simply as the San Francisco Yards, this facility in orbit of Starfleet Command's home city is one of Starfleet's oldest and was responsible for the construction of many famous hulls including those of three Enterprises (NCC-1701, NCC-1701-A and NCC-1701-E) as well as the pathfinder for the Excelsior Class; at one point the yards were responsible for turning out the prototype for every new class set to serve in Starfleet. Though the facility still exists, it no longer holds such a place of prominence amongst similar output facilities. The yards are currently overseen by a conglomerate of private corporations as well as Government and Fleet officials.

Tranquility Base

This base on the surface and in orbit of Luna was located around the Sea of Tranquility (Mare Tranquillitatis); the site of Neil Armstrong's first steps on the moon's surface in 1969. The base was at least a century old, having constructed Constitution Class vessels such as the USS Defiant in the 23rd century. The surface structures were destroyed following a colony ship's crashing on the moon's surface, and the remaining orbiting structures were towed elsewhere.

Utopia Planitia

Utopia Planitia Ship Yards were built on and in orbit of the Utopia Planitia region of Mars; the site of Viking 2's landing in the 20th century. It is currently the largest and most active Federation shipyard in existence and is the home of the majority of Starfleet's experimental starship frames' construction.
