History

Aden Fulton was born to two Starfleet officers, on a Starbase near Krazzle. When Aden was eleven, the Borg started their systematic attack on the Federation, Klingon Empire and Romulan Empire. The Fultons were evacuated from their home and were on one of the three ships to survive the trip.

Aden was taken to her Uncle's place on Utopia Plantia, where he was to look after her while her Her parents fought in the war. It was only a few months after being left on Utopia Plantia that she was given the news that her parents would never return. There were no caskets because there were no bodies brought back. Only a small, quiet service to honor the dead and those considered dead. By that time, though, they were all but mass memorials, since it was too hard to keep up with every one.

Through the years, Aden watched as more and more people she met never came home. While her Uncle, who was half insane and an alcoholic to boot, tried to shield her from the news, she knew what was going on. She grew up watching the news when her Uncle was passed out on the floor or in his room, or when he disappeared for a couple of days.

Life on Utopia Plantia wasn't the best of lives, however, it beat the alternative, which came in 2384. After a few days with her Uncle missing, Aden headed out to find him. Naturally, he was drunk in a bar. Some of the older men in the bar started giving Aden some trouble, for which Aden had one response. She grabbed a bottle off the table and smacked it hard against the head of one of the men. While no charges were filed against her, she was shipped off to Earth to live in a foster home.

Earth was nasty, Earth was icky, and Aden hated Earth with a passion. While living in space was clean and sterile with random animals or plants, living on Earth, she had allergies and there were animals all around. She would spend days planning how to get off the planet, drawing up elaborate plans. Her only escape was piloting small shuttles for her foster family's business from Earth to Utopia Plantia.

None of the plans came to fruition by the time she turned 18, when she enlisted in Starfleet Marines. Due to the quickly dwindling number of pilots and her ability to pilot, Fulton was given an acting commission and placed in a 9 week military piloting course before being sent off to the war.

Once in active combat, Aden proved herself in battle. Her agressive, but calculating combat style lead to a high kill score, matching some of the senior pilots quickly. Unfortunately, her conduct would make it difficult for her to rise in the ranks. Many of her superiors have labelled her as "impulsive" and "unmanagable".

Fulton started taking distance education courses as soon as she was given her acting commission, working for her bachelor's in aerospace engineering. She changed her major three times, ending with English. Five years later, she graduated and she was awarded a full commission. However, she was still a junior pilot, because her many disciplinary marks had prevented her promotions.

Slowly, Fulton rose up the ranks, mostly because of her exceptional piloting record. At the end of the war in 2400, Aden considered giving it all up, but her love for flying kept her in. In 2403, her luck turned when Star Fighter Command broke off from Starfleet. She was given the rank of Commander and placed in command of a small Squadron, the 3rd SFS Hellhounds.

She stayed in command of the Hellhounds until 2405, when she crossed someone she shouldn't have. Instead of taking the advances of a superior officer, she broke his jaw with a wrench and kicked him in the balls. Although it was technically self-defence, JAG favoured the Colonel, due to his rank and her previous record. She was demoted and assigned to the USS Phoenix, a last-chance death trap for people like her.

Personality

Spitfire is a very fitting description of Aden Fulton. She's got a charged, passionate personality, and she puts passion into everything she does. Unfortunately, that means she puts her passion into a short temper as well, which can lead to trouble. Her temper is also a benefit in the field of battle, though.

Aden has a decent tactical mind, and quick reflexes, which make her a killer in the air. She is also a good leader, in the air, although less of a leader on the ground. However, Fulton is far from a good example when it comes to professional conduct. She's violent and foul-mouthed, intolerant of even the slightest stupidity in the air, although she will tolerate unprofessional chatter on the comms, and she smokes Bolian cigars onboard.

Among the wilder things about Fulton would be her mental history. Although she passed all of the psych tests at the Academy, she's been diagnosed with ADHD, as well as being accused, but never diagnosed, with schizophrenia. She copes fairly well with her problems, having learned not to trust the odd voices in her head. She has trouble sitting still and almost always is doing something with her hands, outside of the cockpit she uses gestures to accentuate her conversation. While it may seem like Aden is completely ignoring whatever is being said and going off on her own, she's actually quite good at paying attention to several different conversations at once.

On a final note, Fulton is Terraphobic and doesn't deal well on planets and is weakest flying in planetary atmospheres. It has already been proven futile to try and convince her that planets are not "unnatural". The best tactic is to just let her avoid "terra firma".
