- ""What you,"
"Aegis, can't you knock?" - —Aegis and Vincent after Aegis' entrance and abrupt question regarding Vincent's orientation
Catherine Vincent DeMarceau was the enigmatic physician serving and residing aboard the SS Starlight in the early 25th century in the aftermath of the Borg War.
History
Little to nothing is known about the past of Catherine Vincent DeMarceau beyond the first year of the post-Borg War era when she appeared seemingly out of nowhere operating a small practice on Setlik III near the former Cardassian/Federation border. A practice that was invariably shut down due to various elements of the Orion Syndicate, the majority of the staff there either executed or forced to 'disappear' as a result of "operating without a Syndicate license". This invariably forcing DeMarceau to go into hiding.
Via some monetary aid from an unknown source (most likely various anti-Syndicate elements) DeMarceau would apparently return to some semblance of notoriety. Establishing a small bar named only the Devil's Hand on the border of the former Romulan Star Empire, DeMarceau served as a cover for the various espionage activities that went on. These included several unexplained deaths of Syndicate leaders and often various disputes that destabilised the region enough for various annexations of materials.
- Whether the reasons for her part in this role were personal due to the shut down of her practice and the slaughter of her staff, this is unknown. All that is known that following this time, she hitchhiked through the various worlds seemingly in search of a new life.
It has been stated she worked in some capacity with Starfleet before the fall and has a extensive medical knowledge, yet as to where this knowledge was attained is to date unclear.
Furthur information gleaned from encounters show that she was married to the Orion fugitive, Mireia Vianae as early as 2400. ("Avoiding the devil at the cross roads")
Personality
A mysterious, deflective and a woman of few words, DeMarceau is one whom attempts to maintain as low a profile as possible, often shirking any form of relationship beyond that of her favoured short term sexual relationship for fear of any Syndicate remnants raining revenge upon them for her actions while heading the Devil's Hand.
Surprisingly bearing pacifistic tendencies, her primary weapons of choice consist of an old 23rd century phaser that is rarely if ever set beyond stun and a 'walking stick' that she uses to dispatch any threat with minimum threat of bodily hard.
A self-defined "butch", she is known to have many female lovers in her travels and carries with her some misandristic tendencies most likely due to her experiences with the Syndicate.
Notes
- Her name of Catherine is unknown to anyone, her preference rather is for the middle name of Vincent.
- Requires weekly medications to cope with the damage done to her body via stim-use, resulting in her powerful frame. (The reasons for her use are unknown)
- The 'walking staff' that she uses also conceals a rarely used sword within it, whether the weapon is held for sentimental value is conjecture.
