USS Rabin

The USS Rabin NCC-62499 is an Akira Class Starship presently with no captain has been in the service of Starfleet since 2367 and has participated in many of the major engagments in defence of the Federation since its commission. The ship was named after former Israeli Prime Minister Yitzchak Rabin born on March 1, 1922 who once was a general and Israeli politician. The fifth Prime Minister of Israel from 1974 until 1977 and was re-elected as Prime Minister in 1992 until his assassination in 1995 by Yigal Amir, a right wing activist who had strongly opposed Rabin's signing of the Oslo Accords.

Currently, USS Rabin is undergoing a substantial refit and is awaiting a new commanding officer and crew.
