NCC-26306

In the year 2380 Commander Dan Taylor took command of the Federation Starship Ronald Reagan which was assigned to Bravo Fleet's Task Force 9 at the time. It did not take long for Commander Taylor to be promoted to Captain along with his promotion Captain Taylor was placed in command of Task Group Gamma.

NCC-26306-A

One of the final few Galaxy Class starships created by Starfleet the Ronald Reagan–A is a reminder of the peaceful nature of Starfleet before the war. A ship designed for exploration first, and battle second. Many of the vessels created afterwards were created for battle with hasty refits after the war to allow them to perform duties those aboard the Reagan would consider normal.

The vessels hull was originally laid in 2380 at Utopia Planitia Shipyards, one of three ships commissioned by Starfleet at that facility that year. Starfleet’s original intention was to replace USS DaVinci an aging Excelsior Class vessel, however the untimely destruction of the Ambassador Class USS Ronald Reagan at the hands of the Borg Starfleet chose to christen the ship USS Ronald Reagan–A in honour of Rear Admiral Taylor and the rest of Task Force 86’s heroic attempts to slow the Borg advance across the Raeyan sector.

Before the ship was launched, escape pods containing man members of the original Reagan's crew were found, amongst them a pod containing Rear Admiral Taylor himself and most of his command crew. Dan and his crew were moved aboard the new Galaxy Class Ronald Reagan.

The ship and its crew had no real home during the war, they found themselves moved from trouble spot to trouble spot often being called on to perform missions the larger fleets were unable too do.

During its many missions the Reagan took regular damage, causing it be in dry dock almost as often as it was out on mission. Many people in Starfleet felt that expending resources on the Reagan was an unnecessary waste, however no one could deny the results the ship gave when it was called on.

When the Battle for Sol began, Taylor was aware of the sacrifice that would be necessary in order to lure the Borg in to Starfleet’s pre-planned trap. The Reagan's crew, under Taylor's orders, allowed the ship to be disabled. For the second time in less than 20 years the crew abandoned ship, leaving the Reagan adrift in space.

Whether it was fate, or pure luck the Reagan remained adrift in space until it was salvaged 6 months later. Despite the damaged inflicted on the ship Starfleet Corp of Engineers chose to two the ship back to Utopia Planitia and commence a full refit of the hull. The refit took 4 years to complete, allowing the ship to be launched again early in 2401.

When Admiral Taylor took the position of Commander in Cheif the Reagan remained his flagship, docked in Space Dock the ship waited for orders from Taylor. Orders that were few and far between.

Amid strange circumstances Master Chief Petty Officer Jeffery Jefferson gained command of the Reagan in March 2404, along with 2 other vessels (USS Hale and USS Saber) the Reagan set out for parts unknown following orders given by Fleet Admiral Taylor.

Rakat'iklan serves aboard USS Ronald Reagan-A as the Chief Tactical Officer.

In late 2404 the starship Ronald Reagan once again returned to earth following a failed attempt to locate Captain William T. Riker and the Titan, who remains declared missing in action.
