Betazed

Betazed is a class M planet, located near the Kalandra sector. It is home to the Betazoid race.

Status in 2400

Betazed itself wasn't damaged or invaded by the Borg. Slowly the task force assigned to Betazed assisted the people in improving their defensives. Betazed was already protected by numerous orbital and land defence systems since the end of the Dominion war as Starfleet had improved on the adequated systems not wanting to see another invasion of the planet again. A small shipyard was constructed in orbit of one of Betazed's moons. Construction of Starfleet starships were halted but resumed in 2401. It will be another year until the first three starships will be launched from Betazed.

Empok Nor

More recently, in 2403, with the help of the USS Excalibur and her quantum slipstream drive as well as a small fleet of Starfleet tug vessels Starfleet has been able to tow the spacestation Empok Nor into orbit of Betazed. The station will act as one of the major repair, refill and restock stations in Starfleet's core territory yet still outside of the Sol System.
