Alex Chadwick is the head of Starfleet operations. He is one of two men known as Alexander Chadwick currently in Starfleet. The other is the lead engineer on the Intrepid Flight II project.
Background
This Chadwick first appeared during the Battle of Rigel aboard the starship KongoHe had been discovered a week earlier on a planet in a nearby system that had been saved from assimilation by some unknown means. He was found wandering the surface of the desolate planet with a group of survivors. Most notable about him was he was carrying a Bat'leth and his right foot had been amputated at the ankle. Chadwick had stayed aboard the Kongo even after the rest of the survivors we're sent back to sol because of the unique position he was in knowing of the borg in the rigel system.
The kongo fought long and hard during the battle for the system.The captain had been killed at one point and the bridge had been boarded. Chadwick after dispatching the Borg on the bridge assumed command on the spot. The Battle of Rigel eventually was lost and the survivors of the kongo that weren't assimilated drifted for six weeks in escape pods and were eventually picked up and brought back to the sol system where every hand was needed.
After a lengthy debriefing at fleet command. Chadwick was reassigned to utopia planetia. It was yet known at this point that this Chadwick wasn't native to this universe as the native Chadwick had been presumed lost along with Serenity base.
Chadwick eventually found himself in Sol aboard the starship Venture Staras chief security officer. Her commanding officer had been killed and she was boarded by dozens of drones. He appeared on the bridge from torpedo control wielding a Klingon Bat'leth once again and personally dispatched all the Borg present. He assumed command of the Venture Star in the chaos and lead the ship through six more hours of fighting over Mars. After the battle for sol Chadwick was promoted to commander and given a command of his own. The starship Patton, a small Excelsior class ship. The ship was surveying the sectors around Romulus when contact was lost. It was shortly after this that it was discovered that this Chadwick was not from our universe as the "real" Alexander Percy Chadwick had been found alive.
It was unknown until recently what happened to the Patton. She encountered a Harvester ship scavenging a planet and was destroyed trying to escape.Chadwick and a small amount of his crew escaped.
He is the head of starfleet operations and fleet Executive officer.
