Childhood
Anya Lilliandra Devereaux was born, June 15, 2358, the second child of Armistice and Lilliandra Devereaux in Paris, France. The young family moved to London after Armistice was reassigned to work in the Vulcan Consulate in London by Starfleet. Anya spent most of her youth in London, occasionally traveling back to Paris with her mother to visit her paternal grandparents and her orphaned cousin Katia. Katia’s parents (Armistice’s brother and sister in law, both Starfleet officers) had died in a transporter accident on a return trip from Utopia Planitia when Katia was very young. After a few months of Katia living with her grandparents the Devereaux family took the girl in and she was raised as Anya’s sister. Anya was a very gifted child when it came to language and gymnastics. Her mother and father both spoke fluent French and as a young child the girl picked up the second language, which she later followed up with Latin and Vulcan lessons. She was also involved in gymnastics, fencing and swimming and won several awards in all three fields.
Academy
After graduating early from a preparatory school in London, Anya chose to attend Starfleet Academy in San Fransisco. She was sponsored for early admittance by a Vulcan Admiral that worked at the consulate in London and had watched the young girl grow up, impressed by her proficiency in language. At the Academy Anya joined the fencing and gymnastics teams in coordination with her school work. She picked up marksmanship her second year at the academy and was soon winning the Academy competitions with her proficient skills with a phaser rifle and compression rifle. She graduated with honors in communications and tactical and security skills. She graduated in the top 10 in her Academy class.
Starfleet
After graduating the Academy she returned to London and accepted a post at the Security Consulate working under her father. After two years she accepted a post aboard the USS Concord as a security officer and was soon promoted to Assistant Chief Security/Tactical Officer. She served aboard the USS Concord for three years. She accepted a position working for the newly appointed Commodore Michael McConnell and after his return to Captain of the USS Gemini she accepted a position there. She served on the Gemini for four years after which she accepted a temporary position at Starfleet Academy teaching Security and Tactical courses. She returned to the Gemini after four years and served under Captain McConnell until the distruction of the Gemini in 2397 at the Battle of Alpha Centauri. She then served at the Vulcan Security Consulate in London as the Starfleet Security Chief. She recieved a promotion to Lt. Commander during this time. She is now under an ELOA from the Security Consulate and is unsure of when she will be returning or if she will simply be retiring from Starfleet early and persuing a civilian career.
Personality Profile
Comes across as rather serious at first but once she is comfortable her rather sarcastic sense of humor comes out and she is rather comical. Has a rather shy initial personality but opens up rather easily.
Quirks: Bites her bottom lip on the left side frequently when she thinks. When eating with a utensil will flip it over either before putting it in her mouth or before pulling it out. Can only wink with her left eye.
Strengths and Weaknesses
Strengths: Calm under pressure. Quick critical thinking skills. Though her small body may not look like it, has great upper body strength for her size as well as lower body strength. Endurance runner. Exceptional marksman. Very flexible.
Weaknesses: Has a temper which is slow to ignite but quite volatile. Can hold a grudge for a very long time. Brooding temperament when angered. Sarcastic sense of humor can be rather offensive sometimes.
Likes & Dislikes
Likes: Prometheus nectar is her favorite drink and has been since she was four. 20th century author Tom Clancy is her favorite author and her secret indulgence is an occasional mystery holonovel.
