Brian enjoys his work greatly, and at times can tend to get lost within it,
until the task is completed. However, he has been known to get away when he
needs to, and works to not overtax himself to the point of exhaustion anymore,
which he has done before.
History
Brian grew up during the war, which created some very interesting challenges with his life. His parents, while not part of Starfleet, were in the merchant fleet, and helped in several of the pivotal battles, including the Battle of Sol. During the Battle, Brian was with his grandparents. It was during this time that he became certain in his idea to join Starfleet.
As he was looking at different specialties in Starfleet, he felt the most drawn to the science field. He had always enjoyed the aspect of discovering something new, specifically while looking out into space. As he progressed through Starfleet, he worked as a research assistant on several projects, specifically working with developing a new deep space sensor array. He quickly realized that this was something he enjoyed greatly, especially the remapping of the galaxy, the rediscovery of the worlds that were lost.
Shortly after his graduation from the Academy, Brian was assigned to Pluto Station as part of the group working on developing a new deep space sensor array. Their goal was to specifically develop a new sensor array that would, a, help in the detection of any unidentified, or Borg, ships long before they would be a threat to the system, and b, to help discover what happened to the other worlds in the Federation.
