Denona Hume is the current chief engineering officer aboard the Federation starship USS Fearless. An experienced engineer Lieutenant Junior Grade Hume has just recently been assigned to the USS Fearless.

Personal Background

Prior To 2401

Denona Hume is the daughter of Romulan William Hume and joined Trill Kentra Donrav who had a relationship while serving aboard the USS Laffey. Since both officers were serving aboard the Titan-class warship and did not have the time to raise a child Denona was sent to Earth where she was raised by her grandparents, the adopted parents of her father. Since both her parents where in Starfleet and service in the fleet has run through the Hume family for generations it was no surprise when Denona enrolled in Starfleet Academy.

Growing up Denona had had more books on warp drives, given to her by her grandparents, than she did proper friends and so by the time she was old enough enroll in the Academy she had an advanced theoretical knowledge of nearly all Starfleet engines currently in use.

She was in her first years of the Academy when the Borg war began. Focusing on her studies, hoping to graduate before the war ended, she graduated at the top of her class in engineering and sciences specializing in warp field mechanics.

She saw limited duty aboard the USS Iowa under temporary CO Lieutenant Commander T'Val. The ship was boarded by Borg and she was one of the only survivors.

After 2401

Following the end of the war she spent time serving on Earth helping design and implement Earth’s defense systems. She then served briefly on Utopia Planitia in starship design. Starfleet tasked her with a design team to work on the next generation of Starships, but a year into the program she recieved news that her mother Kentra Donrav had been killed during a mission.

Realizing that her time serving in the Sol system, though helpful to Starfleet, was keeping her away from serving on an active starship. She requested a transfer and was sent to serve aboard the USS Fearless.
