Gai'lar

Vice Admiral Gai'lar is a Tellarite male and the current Head of Starfleet Medical. A well experienced doctor and commanding officer Gai'lar has served in both the Dominion War and Borg War. Before the Dominion War Gai'lar served on Jupiter Station as Chief Medical Research and Development Officer helping to secure new vaccinations and cures for numerous ailments. When the Dominion War broke out Gai'lar was given command of the USS Asclepius, an Olympic Class starship, and the hospital ship was moved to the front lines.

After the war Gai'lar returned to Starfleet Command to serve as Head of Starfleet Medical where he remained throughout the years surviving through the Borg War.
