Jason Benison served as Chief Engineering Officer aboard USS Adventure in 2410.
Jason Benison is one of the few people who have transitioned from Star Fighter Command in to Star Fleet, having joined Star Fighter Command directly after its formation in 2403.
Prior to joining Star Fighter Command Jason had completed a masters degree in weapons design which complimented his degree in engineering. His tutors had declared some sadness in learning that Jason was planning to train as a Star Fighter Pilot instead of putting his skills to a more practical use.
Jason was assigned to SFS1 Angry Apes after one of his training sessions was observed by Colonel Joseph Ryan, he continued to serve as a member of the Apes up until 2408 when he was due to transition to command of SFS5 Ghost Riders. One of Jason’s last sorties with the Apes was to perform an air show as part of Star Fleet’s attempts to show the flag on some outer colonies, during the show his fighter malfunctioned after loosing control he was ejected whilst inverted by the fighters computer.
The impact saw him grounded indefinitely by Star Fleet Medical. The end of the war had allowed Star Fleet Medical to return its regulations to its pre-war state, no longer content with pushing pilots back in to space as soon as they were vaguely ready they wanted to spend some time with Jason resolving his physical and emotional issues following the accident.
Not content to sit for medical leave for a projected 3 year period he petitioned Star Fleet for a transfer to active duty aboard a star ship in the engineering department. Given his educational achievements his transfer was approved.
Following his Star Fleet training Jason found himself at Deep Space One where he began to learn from the stations CEO Scotty, his close working relationship carried on throughout the actions of the renegade armada where Jason served aboard USS Venture Star.
Due to his time spent aboard DS1 and Venture Star he was hand picked for service aboard USS Adventure by Admiral Chadwick in 2410.
