Appearance

Clean shaven on the head by his own choice, Jonas is a slightly tall human male with a pale complexion and muscular build. He carries himself with a indomitable pride and is never seen to shrink away from anyone regardless of rank. Jonas sports a rather biblically related tattoo; the words Rev: 6:7-8 on his right knuckles in large print referring to the Pale Horseman, Death.

Personality

A deeply disturbed individual, Jonas' open honesty and opinion on any topic and his fixation with death often makes him a social pariah. However he isn't without warmth and is often the first to show some kind of compassion to those less fortunate.

Background

Jonas' early life and career are nothing worthy of note. He had high grades, no criminal record and came from a good family. He joined the Starfleet Star Fighter Corps at the age of 18 and soaked up Flight School like a sponge. After successfully passing Flight School as a fully qualified Valkyrie pilot he was posted on board the USS Gertwood, an Akria class carrier. During his time in the Borg War, the loss of close friends as well as the life expectancy of fighter pilots weighed heavily on his mind. Rather than risk having his flight status revoked he hid his worries from councillors until they manifested themselves as homicidal tendencies.

After a flight sortie he confronted the Gertwood's CO, Captain April Ewart and tried to convince her that death was the only escape from the Borg threat. After failing to calm down a troubled Jonas, he sensed she didn't believe him he decided to “convince” her by repeatedly stabbing her with his combat knife. Jonas was placed in the ship's brig for the charge of murder and when the ship returned to Earth to be refitted Jonas was tried and admitted to the crime. He was sentenced to a psychiatric wing due to his unstable nature. Sometime after a costly victory over the Borg Jonas was found to be somewhat cleared of his mental illness and was transferred to a maximum security complex. Shortly after Starfleet reviewed it's losses and found itself dangerously lacking in fighter pilots and was given a chance he couldn't pass up. To serve on the USS Phoenix
