Matthew Grayson is the Chief Engineer of the USS Perseus. An intuitive mechanic and product of the Academy's fast-track schemes from the war, most expect to have found Grayson at a more prestigious assignment. It is generally considered that he is held back somewhat by the mistrust which hangs over him from Command as a result of his having been assimiliated by the Borg during the War. A recovering former drone, one of the few to have been rescued, there are aspects to himself, his mind, and his physiology of which even he seems to not be aware that occasionally reveal himself. This erratic aspect seem set to prevent him from progressing much further than his current position.

Medical Details
Physical Appearance: Grayson isn't the most physically imposing person, for although he's quite tall he is also particularly lanky, and not that well built. There is a quiet confidence to his movements, but often so quiet it can be ignored. He still has some signs of assimilation about his form - namely, the eye piece and the nanite tubing in his hands, though these are mostly subtle and do not entirely detract from his human appearance.
Medical Record: Matt Grayson is a physically very fit young man, who takes care of his body, exercises regularly and eats responsibly. He saw a great raise in his strength and constitution upon his assimilation, however, from which he bears rather certain marks. In addition to the mostly cosmetic changes that denote him rather clearly as a former drone, there are physiological changes as well. Unlike former drones such as Admiral Picard, Grayson was a Borg for long enough that his body had adapted and accepted the cybernetic implants. Much of his internal systems are mechanical, making them somewhat more efficient. His left hand is entirely a prosthetic, the real one having been removed during assimilation, though it looks natural enough courtesy of Starfleet Medical. His right eye, around which is the mechanical implants, is also artificial, and contains much of the original Borg circuitry. Apart from the mechanical eye-piece around it controlling much of his vision, it looks natural, and has been programmed to give him 'natural' human eyesight. He is not above, however, altering it should a situation arise where it is necessary.
