Physical Appearance: Of average height and average build, Sand Ashton isn't a particularly imposing gentleman. But there is a wiry strength to his build that is not obvious at a glance, and an intensity about his movements which gives him far more presence than any physical aspect of him could win. His features are gaunt and worn, his eyes rather deep-set and often bland, though rather piercing. Permanent dark rings under his eyes make them seem somewhat brighter. Ashton rarely cracks a smile, and when he does it tends to be more wry than genuine.

OOC Background

Sanderson Ashton was created in October 2005 by Angry Apes Game Master Cath Stinton as the commanding officer of the USS Thunderchild, the Akira-class ship attached to the squadron in the game. He is the third character to be made captain of the Thunderchild, after Robert Callahan and Darren Kestler. He takes the name 'Sanderson' and nickname 'Sand' from the character of Sanderson Hawkins in DC's Justice Society of America comic series, and the surname of 'Ashton' is a reference to the Ashton Memorial, built by Baron Ashton in 1909, in player Cath Stinton's home city of Lancaster.
