The Casablanca responded to the USS Phoenix's distress call when they were under attack by Vulcan military forces in early 2406. The vessel assisted in the final battle with the Vulcan ships, destroying or driving them off. After the fight, the Phoenix was severely damaged and the Casablanca towed the vessel back to Utopia Planitia for extensive repairs.
