The United Federation of Planets Department of the Exterior is the governmental department which is tasked in maintaining all Federation foreign affairs. This includes protecting and assisting Federation citizens living or traveling away from Federation territory as well as keeping the public informed about Federation foreign policy and relations with other governments.

The Department of the Exterior is run by the United Federation of Planets Secretary of the Exterior.
