William Newcastle

William Newcastle is at present, a Councillor of the Federation, having moved into politics in 2400 following his retirement from the Fleet. Whilst commissioned, he held the rank of Admiral and was eventually Head of Strategic Planning. Newcastle is held partially responsible by some for the disastrous Saturn Counter-Offensive during the Battle of Sol, where just short of two hundred vessels were lost with no noticable damage to the enemy fleet.

Currently, Newcastle is the Chairman of the Council's FME Committee, charged with monitoring Starfleet; a position which earns him the directed anger of many senior officers still within the Fleet.
