FME Committee
From FEInfobase
The Federation Council Committee on Fleet Matters of Engagement, more commonly referred to as the FME Committee, is a group set up by the Council to monitor the activities of Starfleet. This includes but is not limited to independantly recruiting Starfleet officers to serve as departmental liasons, unless doing so would restrict the officer from completing a duty vital to the continued operation of the Fleet. This durisdiction as well as the investigatory nature of the Committee often leads to crossed interests and many officers of Starfleet Command are opposed to the group's existance.
The Committee is chaired by retired Admiral, Councillor Newcastle, the former Head of Fleet Strategic Planning during the war.
In late 2403, the Committee employed the services of Ensign Peter Harris in monitoring the actions of the senior staff of the Operations Department. Harris was transferred off the campus in 2404.
