History

Pre-Starlight

The early portion of Aegis' childhood was spent aboard Deep Space Seven along with ten other siblings. A life that was shattered with the advent of the Borg War, an event that caused the second litter of siblings (of which Aegis is the sole survivor) to be sent back to Trill as a means of ensuring their safety.

However, the freighter would not find it's destination, rather it would come under the attack of a wayward Borg ship and have an assimilation commence. Aegis, attempting to protect his siblings and his own life, fought against the invaders but was ultimately subdued by the greater numbers and superior technology of the Borg invaders.

An event which would leave the Caitain with a permanent psychological trauma and possibly fuel his own delusions of grandeur out of fear of being in a position of powerlessness once more.

In the aftermath, finding Aegis neither remarkable nor worthy enough of assimilation, the Borg Queen which commanded the detachment marooned Aegis upon the forbidden planet of Talos where he would spend an unknown number of years in solitude, causing the survival instincts of the Caitain to overwhelm his Trill half.
