Overview

The Federation Headquarters, also called the 'Seat of the Federation' is a stunning white building that was built to show that the New Federation could be just as impressive as the old despite the effects of the war. The building is located to the South-East of Starfleet Academy's campus just apart from the Pacific Heights district of San Francisco.

Architecture

Exterior

The Building's white exterior rises up over thirty stories and two large front wings curve gently forward around the front gardens to provide a welcoming yet impressive vision for those looking upon the face of the Federation. Towards the rear, the building slides down and out around the Oval Chamber of the Federation where all the member races are represented in the Council. Behind and below the building, a small landing bay deals with the few authorised shuttles that do not land at the Starfleet Shuttle Suite or Golden Gate Air Terminal.

Interior

The two front wings of the building play host to hundreds of offices for the staff of the Federation Council. Council members offices are generally towards the top floors however this changes on an individual basis. The large reception hall at the centre of the building is typified by a white marble floor printed with the seal of the Federation. Behind this large room stands the equally large restaurant of the building where a collection of foods from various cultures is reflected in a menu that changes on a monthly basis. The Council's Chamber itself is the rearmost room of the building proper and presents an inspiring view to the casual observer.

Construction

The building was built slightly behind schedule and though various renovations are currently taking place, was declared open by the Federation President in the Summer of 2402.
