City Overview

San Francisco is one on the major population centres on Earth playing host to many large and important organisations. Traditionally one of America's most beautiful cities, the ever increasing population and use of primitive fuel has meant that pollution has become a problem for the city's populace to deal with, with some cynics suggesting that it rivalled the immense Rio de Janeiro in terms of pollution. The city has an alarmingly high crime rate given the proximity of such important facilities as Starfleet Academy, and in January 2404, had as many homeless people as New York, despite only holding one tenth of the population.

The Docks

Hundreds of boats now line the eastern docks, offering cramped and sub-standard accomodation for a price to those who can find nothing better. There have been small movements by the city council to work against this, but priorities are elsewhere. The small police presence in the area has led to it becoming a favourite haunt for thieves and drug dealers, and residents are advised not to walk alone in the area after nightfall.
