Deep Space Nine was a Federation Starbase situated near to Bajor and the Bajoran Wormhole. Originally designed by the Cardassians during the Bajor Occupation the station played a vital role to the Federation and Starfleet during the Dominion War and later on the Borg War.

The station was heavily damaged during the Second Battle of Bajor and was later scrapped for parts to assist in defence of Bajor.
