Caroline Walton was born on Earth during the Borg War, and grew up there, watching the world change and not really understanding how fundamental those changes were.
The war ended while she was in high school, and she decided to join Starfleet to find her way off the overcrowded planet her homeworld had become. After graduation, she applied for and was accepted by Starfleet Academy, where she majored in physics. In her senior year, she was assigned to an apprenticeship program aboard the USS Foresight, an experience that put her through a great deal of trauma in her encounters with the Mirror Universe. She has recently graduated, and requested to be stationed aboard the USS Chimera.
In 2409, Walton was credited with discovering and making First Contact with a new species, the ancient race of software entities now colloquially called Walton's Species.
