Klingon Defence Force

The Klingon Defence Force is the interstellar military of the Klingon Empire composing of the Imperial Fleet and the Empire's ground warriors. Before the war, its headquarters were located at Ty'Gokor. By 2154, the KDF had the ability to destroy entire planets, which they have historically employed in order to contain a mutagenic virus and destroy the Tribble homeworld.

Since its conception, the Federation had viewed the KDF as one of the most immediate threats to its survival, due both to the Fleet's size and power and the conquering nature of the Empire. Despite this traditional power, the Klingon Fleet once suffered a great loss at the hands of the Breen.

The Borg conquest of the galaxy effectively ended the significance of the KDF as a seperate military force. With the formal entry of the klingon empire into the federation all remaining Klingon forces have been absorbed into star fleet.
