"Fairest of them All" was the second episode of the first season of Star Trek: Temporal Investigations, and the beginning of the Mirror Universe story arc.

Outline

The Temporal Investigations team is sent by Starfleet to investigate an intermittent wormhole in the Serpentis sector. The wormhole, which has a variable temporal displacement between its ends, has been accidentally entered by a merchant ship, the Roll of the Dice, which was a converted Klingon B'Rel-class Bird of Prey. It is also being studied by the Vulcan science vessel Eigenstate.

Lieutenant Commander Azrim Tain and Ensign Noran Gyle are assigned to the Eigenstate to help them interpret data on the wormhole, which the Temporal Investigations runabout Manhattan is sent to investigate more closely.
