There have been two Federation starships to be named USS Voyager since 2371.

NCC-74656

USS Voyager (NCC-74656) was an Intrepid Class starship and was launched in 2371 under the command of Captain Kathryn Janeway. The vessel was presumed lost with all hands on its first mission to locate a Maquis vessel in the Bajoran Badlands, however its status was established in mid-2374. The vessel had been transported across the galaxy by a powerful alien all the way to the Delta Quadrant.

The Maquis crew had joined Voyager on its journey to return to the Alpha Quadrant. The vessel became the first ship since the days of James T. Kirk to make contact with more then 150 different species and collected enough data on the Delta Quadrant to keep Federation scientists engaged for decades. Voyager expanded the final frontier of exploration on every front and brought back new technologies for the Federation to research and develop. The vessel returned triumphantly in late 2377 after dealing the Borg a crippling blow by destroying their unicomplex and transwarp conduit networks as well introducing a neurolytic pathogen in to the collective creating disruption to every ship and outpost.

Voyager was in drydock for several months as members from the Starfleet Corps of Engineers and Starfleet Tactical reviewed and analysed every single molecule of the vessel. The vessel was re-launched later on in 2378 under the command of newly promoted Captain Chakotay. The vessel assisted in the post-Dominion War rebuilding phase of the Federation.

Chakotay remained its commanding officer for a long duration as the vessel participated heavily in the defence of the Federation during the Borg War. After finally reaching the rank of Vice Admiral in 2395, Chakotay decided to resign his commission and become an Ambassador for the Federation Council to helpout with so many new species joining the Federation.

Command of Voyager was transferred back to Fleet Admiral Kathryn Janeway as she appointed Voyager as her personal flagship. On December 23rd 2398 Janeway led a majority of the forces stationed at Earth to fight the remaining Borg vessels in the Battle of Sol. Unfortunately the ship recieved heavy damage and was destroyed after it collided with a Borg Sphere.

NCC-74656-A

The Copernicus Shipyards constructed several new Intrepid Class hulls in 2399. One of the vessels was renamed USS Voyager (NCC-74656-A). Command of the vessel was placed in the hands of Commodore Bryan Cash in 2401. Voyager was assigned as flagship of Starfleet's Re-Exploration Initiative and was ordered to begin re-exploring the Alpha and Beta Quadrants. The vessel served well for two years before Cash led a renegade armada of vessels away from the current Federation. Cash transferred command of Voyager to his executive officer Captain Rownen McKensie when he assumed command of Deep Space One in early 2404. Contact with Voyager was lost shortly after her first patrol of the Briar Patch. Her present status and condition is unknown.

Current Status

The reappearance of USS Voyager occurred late in the year 2409 she emerged from a temporal event under the command of Captain Bryan Horlocker the events surrounding her reappearance have been classified by Star Fleet Command as top secret.

The Federation data banks have been updated to indicate that the ship is back in the fleet but no explanation for its disappearance has been given. No mention is made of Captain Rowen McKensie or the former crew of USS Voyager.

In 2410 USS Voyager was assigned to Deep Space Five under the command of Captain Horlocker
