USS Nova

The USS Nova NCC-73515 was originally a Nova-class starship when she was launched in 2376 however by 2392 she had been upgraded to the Nova refit-class specifications. She was named to honour the first Nova and prototype for the class which was lost in the opening days of the Dominion War in 2374.
The Nova was assigned to a scientific mission in 2379 along the Romulan border when it recieved word to rendevouz with the USS Archer and head to sector 1045 to rendevouz with Battle Group Omega. The Battle Group was assembled to meet up with the Enterprise-E to counter a possible Reman invasion against Earth.
By 2393 the ship was ordered to be refitted at the Oakland Shipyards to the new specifications being used by the Rhode Island. The ship was assigned to the First Fleet in 2400 under the command of Captain Ben Nash.
Three years later and the Nova was on routine patrol in the Sol System. The ship's advanced sensor arrays were used to monitor The Field.
Former Crewmembers
- Lieutenant Commander Anthony Brooks - served as operations manager and second executive officer for two years. Brooks was considered for the role of first officer, however the opportunity was denied when the ship was taken off the active duty list for its 2393 refitting. He was posted to Spacedock One.
