Andoria, also called Andor, is an ice moon in orbit of a gas giant. It is the homeworld to the Andorians and Aenar. It was one of the founding members of the United Federation of Planets.
Status in 2400
Second Race to join the Federation since the end of the Borg War, when contact was re-established the world of Andoria was found to be under the control of the Borg. However, for reasons unknown, the planet was never completely assimilated. The Defiant arrived to find the atmosphere of the planet in a precarious state—the Borg nanites and nature itself were warring for domination. If the environment were pushed even an inch in the wrong direction, the planet would become uninhabitable. At least one atmospheric processor was put into operation with several more in various states of repair.
Status in 2405
Finding no reasonable solution to the borg presence on the planet starfleet sent elements of the fourth fleet to andoria in early 2405 and by orbital bombardment completely decimated the surface of the planet.Turning it into a lifeless world and eliminating the borg there.
Notable Locations
Andorian Grand Clan Halls is one the most important buildings located in the capital city of Andoria. It is here where the Andorian government meets daily and is led by the Andorian Chancellor.
In 2404 Chancellor Mikth th'Khalle met Fleet Captain Zack Marshall-Bennet to introduce him to Professor Sh’avern th’Teris. The Grand Clan Halls were bombed on the same day in a successful attempt in kidnapping the professor (DS1: "Along The Stream").
