Captain David Cassidy is a senior aide to Vice-Admiral T'Varel, the head of Starfleet Science. A highly seasoned security officer, many see Cassidy as T'Varel's quasi-unofficial bodyguard, and he has served in that capacity since before the Borg War.

Physical Appearance: Tall and fairly burly, Cassidy looks the part of the security officer that he is – or, in a different light, can appear to be nothing more than an indiscriminate thug. He uses both of these images to his advantage when necessary, and is highly aware of when it is a good time to bring forward his commanding presence, or his threatening presence. If nothing else, it’s often guaranteed that Cassidy cannot be overlooked when he enters a room. His dark and slightly curly hair often resists any efforts to be kept under control, and he is not beyond keeping as much stubble on his chin as he can get away with when he feels lazy. It is this slightly scruffy appearance which, when coupled with his often-seen bright and cheerful smile, emphasises the easy-going personality behind the intimidating physical appearance.
Medical History: Cassidy was assimilated by the Borg in 2386. As a drone for just over two years, he was relatively reliant upon the Collective by the time he was rescued by starships of Task Force 31. As such, his rehabilitation into humanity took several long months, and there are still lasting affects left on Cassidy. Much of his physiology is still that of a Borg drone; many of his internal organs are cybernetic, as is his right eye. The right side of his face still shows many signs of Borg implants, and it is impossible for him to pass for being fully human. The alterations he underwent while in the Collective are even further; it seems his aging process has slowed down due to the improvements in his physiology, and he retains the same physical condition he was in when he was assimilated at the age of 42.
