Jerel Ecton was a Ullian Starfleet officer and leader of the Starfleet Special Investigations' Empok Nor branch, active in the early 25th century.

History
Early Life
Jerel was born to older parents who seldom had a lot of time as they travelled to a number of different worlds including Betazed. During the early years Jerel had a lot of problems keeping memories out of his mind. His parents did the best they could but of course there was a lot of issues that kept them busy as they did diplomatic duty.
At age of 16 the family moved to Betazed to liase and to learn more about the different forms of Mental communications. Jerel had started to learn more about the cultures but found that he liked more to learn the fighting of other cultures.
Age 18 he decided to hitch hike the Galaxy trading his skills as a Memory Finder for free passage and a chance to see the stars. For close to 8 years he travelled a lot but never found a true home in all the years that he searched. He had spent a lot less time on the worlds and just used his knowledge to get him where he wanted to visit.
By the time he was 23 he had visited Bajor and travelled through the Wormhole He unfortunately learned too late of the issues with the Dominion and was nearly killed as an attack struck the ship that he was on. He was shipped back to Bajor and Terok Nor (Deep Space 9) where he was put into the Medical Wing and kept sedated so he could try to heal. For a year he spent trying to heal from the wounds that the Dominion inflicted upon him. He still felt the guilt as all people in the crew were worse then him. He had felt very annoyed when he had learned that all on the ship died within a month.
During the Borg Wars
During the War with the Borg Jerel had begun to get back to his former self. He had seen the best and the worst in people and knew that he would be forced to take up arms against the Borg. He had heard about the Starfleet Special Investigations which was being put up and agreed to join them as he had some small JAG experience. He enjoyed the work and began to use his mind powers to find out information that was hidden from him. His bosses were not pleased at first but because of the amount of people that were becoming criminals they needed
He enjoyed the new found freedom and started to push out further and further to find the pirates. When the jokes were started that the only reason he was with the SSI was due to the fact that no one would have taken him in since he was so incompetant. As years passed he began to find out that some of those who were cruel to him were ones that he had investigated and helped to put away for crimes against the capital.
He began to relish in the fact that SSI was giving him a new found respect that he never would have received elsewhere. When the war was over he had more power then most of the intelligence community at all. He started to grow corrupt with that and began to use the looting of worlds that were abandoned. He worked hard and was finally given the chance he wanted. He was moving to Empok Nor to put together a group of dedicated SSI Agents who would one day be able to go to any area and fit in and help to dismantle the criminal elements both internal and external.
History with the Fleet
During the Borg War Jerrel joined up with the Star Fleet Special investigations as he knew that people had to be protecting the Federation from Internal Threats the same way the Fleet had to protect from external. At that point he was idealistic in regards to what he could and couldn't do. He at that point didn't enjoy scanning memories to find out information but that soon changed.
He spent most of his time on Earth doing research but slowly he gained the trust of the most senior and was sent outside of Earth to do more case research.
- Currently he is on Empok Nor as the Team Leader of the Star Fleet Special Investigations unit that is currently there.
Personality Profile
Most of his friends don’t have time or patience to deal with someone who one day may be investigating one and be forced to turn them over to any form of punishment. There had been an instance in his past with the SSI where he was forced to scan the memories to find out information that the man would never impart. The man went into shock and very nearly died. While Jerel is more careful with scanning the minds of those lest he destroy someone who is innocent.
While Jerel is corrupt he isn’t completely Evil. He doesn’t kill unless he knows that there is no way justice can be done. They have had to use torture a few times but nothing that would leave him with nightmares and as soon as they were broke down from sleep deprivation he would then scan the memories.

Current Family
Jerel never had the time to marry but he does have children as he did enjoy the fact that he could leave as many potential heirs as possible. His parents were all from only child families and the Borg wiped most of his family out. Though he doesn’t have anything to really do with any of his family he was glad to sire as many children as possible.
